HEALTH & SAFETY

Health and Safety with a ‘Safety First’ attitude is essential for the success of any company. Zero tolerance to non-conformance is also essential for the team to know and understand.

Safety First for Keymore starts with having the right policies, procedures and accreditations in place. Keymore has a Safe T Cert Health and Safety Certification. This awarded by the Construction Employers Federation. Safe-T-Cert is a third-party accredited health and safety management system which is recognised throughout Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and GB. A Safe-T- Cert certificate is awarded to a company based on the quality of their Safety Management system.

This is an investment we have made in ensuring we are taking every possible step to ensure the safety of all those in our team, those working around and with us and indeed, on many of our sites, the members of the public in the vicinity of the constrained spaces we work in.

Our Health and Safety manager visits every site we are working on every two weeks. He goes through the previous two weeks records with the Foreman and walks the site. Together they put in place any recommendations for the following weeks and record these in the weekly reports submitted for inclusion on the dashboards.

We host weekly toolbox talks to remind our own teams and those working with us about key practices and procedures. We believe this repetition will help to ensure plans are acted on accordingly, should there ever be a requirement.

It is also important to engage with our clients and raise issues that we may collectively face from a health and safety perspective. This is a vital part of the client relationship.

Environmental

Many of our clients choose Keymore because of our skill, craftsmanship and our innovation. Whether it is building a cantilevered brick entrance for a new city centre hotel, in Dublin; or delivering brick work which is both intricate and detailed over the 15-storey arrangement; to be keeping with the historic surroundings of Belfast’s historic Linen Quarter, we are at the forefront of the industry.

We are not afraid to try new products, innovations and materials within the confines of the client specification.

Keymore has introduced a number of Quality Management Systems to help deliver on time, on budget and with quality for its clients. Much of this work is captured in the company dashboards. These are delivered at in house monthly meetings and cover all aspects of the company. This enables the team to recap on the events of the month previous and outline a plan for the month ahead to address/ prevent any previous concerns.
